So, I know many of you ([personal profile] celli , [personal profile] ladysorka , [personal profile] icepixie ) use Dreamwidth along with (or instead of) Livejournal.  I am intrigued by this process, and want to learn more.  I have read the overview FAQ at Dreamwidth, but I still don't understand exactly how the two sites do or can interact.  Does anyone have advice/tips/explanations and so forth that would be helpful?

I went and had about two years of having to deal with the world offline, and all of fandom has changed (the sites, etc.) and I am a bit confused.

On this entry, it looks like you've already got crossposting turned on, which is almost all I do with it. (I do have the option for displaying a link to/comment count of the DW entry at the bottom of each LJ post turned on, but that seems to be the only difference between ours.)

Beyond that, my two accounts don't really interact. I got a DW to follow people who were only on DW and to have a backup of my LJ entries. I have some of the same people friended on each site, and thus I've made default filters for each account so I don't get two copies of their entries. Which site's default view I put a person in is based largely on whether other people tend to comment on their LJ or their DW, because half the fun for me is reading other comments.
